Music is as important to me as water and I immerse myself in it just as much…..One of my present obsessions is Frank Ocean.
Frank Ocean born Christopher “Lonny” Breaux in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 29, 1987 is an American singer/songwriter and member of the gleefully hedonistic hip-hop collective OFWGKTA. Compared to the mainstream r&b/hip-hop music we hear on the radio now-a-days, Ocean is a breath of fresh air. As a member of the Odd Future (OFWGKTA) collective, his sound is distinctively soulful/r&b influenced, yet done in a way that could pass for something totally different.

My favourite tracks from his stellar debut nostalgia, ULTRA is….
“It won’t ever get old, not in my soul
Not in my spirit, keep it alive
We’ll go down this road
‘Til it turns from color to black and white”
At first listen I thought it was about cocaine abuse
“Sink full a dishes
Pacing in the kitchen
Cocaine for breakfast, Yikes”
Then I realized its about a girl who is trying to complete her univ. degree in dentistry and had to doing something on the side to pay for her tuition…gotta do what you gotta do
Swim Good could be about bad relationships in the past he is trying to get away from..
And lastly is We All Try
I believe Jehovah Jireh
I believe there’s heaven, I believe in war
I believe a woman’s temple
Gives her the right to choose but baby don’t abort
I believe that marriage isn’t
Between a man and woman but between love and love
And I believe you when you say that you’ve lost all faith
But you must believe in something, something, something
You gotta believe in something, something, something[Hook]
I still believe in man
A wise one asked me why
Cause I just don’t believe we’re wicked
I know that we sin but I do believe we try
We all try, the girls try, the boys try
Women try, men try, you and I try, try, we all try
